Zhongbi Luo

Zhongbi Luo is an Early-Stage Researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven’s research group on Intelligent Mobile Platforms (IMP), Robotics, Automation, and Mechatronics. As ESR3, he will carry out multi-target identification based on ENC standards with a focus on updating the IENC database with point cloud data. His ultimate objective is to create an online algorithm that leverages real-time point cloud data to dynamically change the ENC database, hence maximizing information sharing between ENC users.

In 2022, he completed a Master of Science in mechanical engineering design from the University of Manchester and studied robotics at the Technical University of Munich. In addition, he graduated from Huazhong Agricultural University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design and Automation Engineering 2020.

He is passionate about visual navigation and SLAM technology, working to create safer autonomous barge technology.
