Project title/WP: Online identification of vessel dynamics in confined inland waterways (WP1)
Supervisory board: Prof. P. Slaets (KU Leuven, BE), Prof. J. Swevers (KU Leuven, BE), J. Oggel (NOVATUG, NL)
Objectives:
- Develop an on- and offline algorithm to estimate states and parameters of the hydrodynamic model of an inland barge
- Design and implement a sensor setup that is able to identify the hydrodynamic model
Expected Results:
- Defining parametrized hydrodynamic models
- Off-line algorithms for hydrodynamic parameter estimation
- On-line parameter and state estimation algorithms suited for real-time motion prediction.
Planned secondment(s):
- TU Delft (NL): Gathering experimental data from available scale model vessels (M14-16, secondment mentor: R.R. Negenborn)
- NOVATUG (NL): Gathering experimental data from a real scale tugboat (M24-26, secondment mentor: J. Oggel)
