UHAM

UHAM is the largest institution for research and education in Northern Germany. As one of the country’s largest universities, it offers a diverse course spectrum and excellent research opportunities. The university boasts numerous interdisciplinary projects in a broad range of subjects and an extensive partner network with leading institutions on a regional, national, and international scale. UHAM offers over 170 degree programs in eight faculties. Currently UHAM has more than 43.000 students and more than 700 professors. Scientists from UHAM are involved in more than 170 projects funded by the EU. At the University of Hamburg 77 EU-funded projects are managed in Horizon 2020. It has a team of dedicated Financial Officers, EU Liaison Officers, Legal Officers and Technology Transfer Officers to support the management and all other issues, e. g. intellectual property rights, that may arise from the projects. The University of Hamburg has acceded the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct via the German Rectors’ Conference. For complementary skills the University of Hamburg offers, e. g. (1) human resources development department offers with the newly build Hamburg Research Academy a personal development planning with a special focus on young researchers and a large variety of complementary and soft skill classes, e. g. Management, proposal writing etc.; (2) Language Center organizes German Language classes for foreign researchers coming to the University; (3) University Library Carl von Ossietzsky provides services for connecting national and international library networks.
